Important Things to Consider When Choosing Cycling Glasses
When choosing sunglasses to wear when biking, there are a number of factors that will need to be considered. One of the first will be the lenses that are chosen. While there are a number of different colored lenses, as seen above, the strength of the lenses can vary.
Those that have very little shading are typically a good option for cloudy and rainy days. As they progress in shades from light to very dark, they are naturally better choices for varying environmental conditions. For example, those that are very dark can be a good option where there is intense sunlight, and glare from sand, water, etc. In some cases, the lenses are interchangeable, which can provide the most flexibility in a pair of biking sunglasses.
Another thing to consider is whether you need to have air vents. It will really depend on just how you are riding and where in most cases. Those who are taking a short, relaxing ride might not need them. Those who are going on longer rides will likely find that there is more and more heat and perspiration that gets trapped between their face and the lenses, fogging them up. Having vents in the lenses or frames can help to negate this problem.
Ideally, you will want to have frames that are comfortable and that fit snugly enough that they will not fall off of your face. The lens should cover the eye entirely, and quality frames and bridges should be durable, and they should remain grippy while slick.
Take your time and find the best cycling sunglasses for your needs.
